What is malt wine?

Malt wine is a distillate which can be created from various grain types such as wheat, rye, and corn. Next to juniper-infused distillate, it is one of the two main ingredients in the production of Dutch genever. Each genever has a unique malt wine composition depending on the grain and botanicals used.
